Do you own land that you would like to promote for development?

The English planning system is plan-led as legislation requires applications for development to be considered against policies in a Council’s local development plan.

Local Plans guide development of land in a local area for a minimum period of 15 years from adoption and, as such, it is important to ensure that land is promoted for development through the local plan-making process.

Even if land is not allocated, Councils are required to review local plans within five years from adoption to consider any changing circumstances in the area (such as housing need) or any relevant changes in national policy, and must review the availability of sites for housing and employment development every year.

Brimble Lea constantly monitors the status of any Local Plans being produced or reviewed in the South West. We can work with you and the Council to ensure that land is promoted for development at every opportunity of the local plan process and work with development partners to secure Promotion or Option Agreements where appropriate.

If you own land that you would like promoted for development in the medium-long term through a Council’s local plan process, please contact us.
