Janet Montgomery

Janet has been with Brimble Lea since 1990 and holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree and is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Having previously worked for a London firm of surveyors Janet has over 30 years of experience in the private land and property sector and advises clients on a complete range of development schemes.

Diccon Carpendale

Having joined the Practice in 2003, Diccon became a Partner of the firm in 2008. He holds a Masters Degree in Town & Country Planning and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Architectural Conservation, and is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. Prior to joining Brimble Lea, Diccon spent nearly 15 years working in the public sector where he gained planning, conservation and regeneration expertise. With nearly 30 years’ experience, he can provide advice on a wide range of planning issues.

Matt Williams

In October 2015 Matt joined the Practice as a planning consultant and has been a Partner of the firm since May 2017. Matt holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Town & Country Planning and is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Prior to joining Brimble Lea he was head of planning at Mendip District Council and has developed an in-depth understanding of planning legislation, policy and procedure through 25 years in the public and private sectors.

Robert Campbell

In September 2014 Robert joined the Practice as an Architect and he became a Partner of the firm in May 2016. He holds a Masters Degree and Diploma in Architecture and is a Member of the Architects Registration Board (ARB) as well as the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Before he came to Brimble Lea, Robert worked as a lead architect for a large London firm and dealt with a range of prestigious international projects, including airports, train stations, government offices, a major art gallery and a number of bespoke residential schemes.

 
 

The team

Phil Williams

Phil has been the Practice and Office Manager since 2012. He is responsible for all matters financial on a day-to-day basis and runs the administrative side of the business, in order to support the Partners.  Phil also looks after various residential and commercial properties in both Somerset and London, and all matters relating to them.

James U’Dell

James joined the Practice in June 2021 as a Planning Consultant after being head-hunted by his former boss.  He is a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and holds a degree in Geography and a Masters degree in Planning Practice and Research.  Prior to joining Brimble Lea James worked as a Senior Planning Officer at Mendip District Council (now part of Somerset Council).  Prior to this he worked in a Planning Consultancy role for the States of Jersey in the Channel Islands and as a Planning Officer at Bournemouth Borough Council (now BCP Council).  James has developed an in-depth understanding of planning legislation, policy and procedure through the 16+ years working in the public and private sectors

 

Marc Andrews

Marc has been with Brimble Lea since 2000.  In his role as senior architectural technician he prepares initial schemes, drawings for planning and listed building consent applications, providing support to the Planning Team and Practice Architect.  As well as preparing detailed construction information for Building Regulations approvals and tendering to contractors, he is also involved with projects on site and contract administration.

David Rawlings

David Rawlings is an architectural technician and came to Brimble Lea in 2016 having previously worked in two other architectural Practices covering residential and commercial development.  At Brimble Lea, David also prepares detailed drawings for Building Regulations approvals as well as tendering to contractors and contract administration in support of our architect.                                                                                                                          

 

Lorraine Jacobs

Lorraine joined Brimble Lea in 2014 and works as Janet Montgomery’s Secretary after many years employed as a Legal Secretary.  Lorraine enjoys walking, swimming and spending time in her garden.

Richard Roff

Richard was formerly an employee of Brimble Lea but is now a consultant and carries out measured building and land surveys/topographic surveys using GPS and robotic Total Station survey equipment for Brimble Lea.
