Have you been refused planning permission?

If the Council refuses your planning application or imposes conditions that are unworkable, there is a right of appeal to the Secretary of State (administered by The Planning Inspectorate).

It is far better in terms of time and cost to work with the Council and secure their approval. However, if they have a fundamental objection to a particular development proposal, the only way forward is to appeal against the planning decision.

Brimble Lea has significant experience with planning appeals against Council decisions for a range of proposals. Notable recent successes include:

  • A two storey dwelling to replace a bungalow in the Bath Green Belt

  • A new farmhouse in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within Dorset

  • Outline permission for up to 30 dwellings on the edge of a Somerset village

  • The change of use of town centre premises to a dwelling in Dorset

  • The conversion of a farm building in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within Dorset

  • An extension to a dwelling in the Hampshire countryside
